"He who knows and knows not he knows, he is asleep - awaken him." Kahlil Gibran

"We do the best we know how with what we know now."

Anyaa H'redulla - The Perseverer

The purpose of this website is to share what I have learned from facing my own  challenges.

It is my sincere hope that this sharing will help you to realize you are not alone... that there are others going through very similar experiences.

Maybe you'll recognize yourself in my reflections and it will help you to understand a little more about 'you.'

Change Is In The Air!

As you've probably heard numerous times, change is the only constant. That has definitely been my personal experience. Nothing ever stays the same.

Eckhart Tolle talks about the impermanence of everything in our life... except Life itself which is eternal... and it can be quite a shock to realize that NOTHING in our life ever stays the same.

Even historic buildings that have been around for hundreds of years will eventually crumble to dust. Mountains move; land masses change; oceans engulf coasts... and sometimes whole continents. It's only a matter of time.

People in our life will all die, as will we; relationships crumble or change; jobs come and go; children grow up; friends move; years pass; events come, and experiences go. Everything changes.

When we acknowledge that "This too shall pass," whether it's 'good' or 'bad,' it can feel as if we have no control over anything... and, of course, we don't... except for one thing: We can change our mind.

And that is something I did in August 2008.

Well, the most significant part started in August, but as with most major revelations in life, it's difficult to pinpoint exactly what led to this change. However, a succession of experiences and events around that time caused me to seriously reflect on my life path and, as a result, changed my perspective significantly.

One of the catalysts to my new path was a message I 'received' and I would like to share it with you.

Present Perfect

Accept what 'is' – totally, without  question – as the perfection of this NOW. Accept it as God’s answer to your prayers... no matter what they may be.

Whatever you are experiencing IS the answer you’ve been asking for whether it’s in the form you want and expect, or NOT. It is ALWAYS the perfect answer.

ALL WAYS!

I have written about Present Perfect in an earlier Reflection because I have come to accept that my experiences always turn out perfectly for me, but until I received this message, I had not made the connection between my current life circumstances and my prayers. This was a revelation for me.

Also, it doesn't escape me that this message is not just a personal revelation, but can be applied globally. The prayers of humankind are being answered at this moment, in this NOW, and the changes our world is undergoing are indeed God's answer to those prayers. AND THEY ARE PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!

Our Earth is going through tremendous changes - witness the new weather patterns many are experiencing, not to mention the political systems, financial institutions, economies, etc. These changes have all been predicted for many years, but they're impossible to ignore any longer. Even the most entrenched individual cannot deny that 'change is in the air.' And those changes are often accompanied by insecurity, anxiety and downright fear.

But it doesn't have to be that way. We have the opportunity to view what is happening around us with new eyes and to even embrace these changes when we accept that everything is in perfect order and there is absolutely nothing to fear.

It's understandable that many people find it difficult to accept that violence, wars, floods, famine, earthquakes, or suffering in any form can ever be the answer to our prayers, but I firmly believe there is far more going on than we can ever imagine. As humans we have a very limited perspective and we need to have faith that there's a higher intelligence at work here. Also, there is much we can all learn from these experiences - not the least of which is Compassion for every hurting individual on this planet. And there are many!

There's a more detailed account of my recent experiences and the events that precipitated my change of mind. To read more, please click here.
